I am the founder of a local non-profit that I have been running, along with a dedicated team including staff, board members and volunteers, for over eleven years. Through this work, I have been helping low income residents build financial stability. Additionally, through financial coaching and counseling, our work supports small business startups. I am pleased to have helped families start or grow businesses and helped others to find gainful employment.
The testimonies of those we help, gives me motivation and encouragement, to continue supporting as many people as possible. As we defined it at ProsperityME, the success of our students is our joy. I want to use the same method to support the people of Westbrook. As a small business owner; I know that small businesses are the engine of the economy and that’s one important tool in fighting poverty in both our city and state.
As a member of the Portland City Community Development Block Grant for 3 years one of my priorities was to help the city diversify CDBG funding to support the most vulnerable people by helping them to get into workforce development. I have the skills and knowledge to help our city invest in workforce development, leading to a stronger Westbrook economy. I want to be a bridge between small business owners and city economic development.
